Review of the Liebe Seele Victorian Garden Lace and Velvet Collar with Chain Leash

According to the Liebe Seele website, the Victorian Garden line is a grab back to the early eighteenth century, with ‘A perfect balance between the lace and faux fur, the vintage copper metal enhances the sense of times’. To me, with the black lace covering a shiny red metallic fabric, it oozed a sense of steampunk. I’ve visited enough fantasy festivals to recognize that style with their own science fiction version.

True BDSM

Unlike the other products I have reviewed for Liebe Seele, this collar with chainset is not made of leather, but it’s a vegan alternative instead. Now, I do not believe that your accessories have to be leather for them to be ‘true BDSM.’ Anyone knows a simple scarf or tie can be just as efficient. The only danger is that it can soon look cheapish. But from the first inspection, the Liebe Seele quality is evident. The collar feels sturdy from the moment you take it out of the box. Let’s look at the details.

Packaging and Description

The Victorian Garden Lace and Velvet Collar with Chain Leash comes delivered in a small black box, inside of the non-descript larger box for shipping, of course. The products come sealed in a plastic bag within this black box with the leash in a separate bag to prevent damage. Two lovely tags are added to the product decorated with beautiful flowers in the Victorian Garden style. Inside the box is also, which I love, a satin pouch to safe keep the collar.

Vegan

The collar itself is made of PU leather which is a vegan option. It is covered with a shiny red layer topped with black lace. The end result is exceptionally stylish. The collar has three D-rings which are perfect for whatever the dominant partner comes up with 😉 The rings are made of vintage copper, which leads to the beautiful steampunk style. The inside of the collar is lined with faux fur, which is very soft and fluffy.

Vintage Copper

The leash is made of the same vintage copper as the buckles, and the handle at the end is in the same style as the collar. What else would you expect of Liebe Seele?
The collar is 4,5 centimetres wide which means you’ll definitely notice it while wearing it, but it’s not too wide; at least it wasn’t for me. The 30 to 44 centimetres adjustable range was also more than enough for me. The leash is a little over one meter long.

My Experience

Some people believe submissives should endure whatever is given to them. So if a collar is a bit rough or uncomfortable, these people say: Deal with it. Now, I know I can be a little spoiled now and then, but I like my BDSM toys to be at least somewhat pleasant. I was surprised by how comfortable this collar felt around my neck. The plush inside is really soft, and that makes a more considerable difference than I had anticipated. The size is such that you won’t forget you’re wearing it, but it isn’t a big nuisance either. Attaching the leash to the collar was easy, of course, and my dominant enjoyed that a lot. I didn’t so much, but that wasn’t the product’s fault 😉

Conclusion

This Victorian Garden Lace and Velvet Collar with Chain Leash is fabulous, more fantastic than I had thought. I was afraid it would be less sturdy than my leather collars, but that’s not the case. Quite the opposite, really, since it’s lined with faux fur, it’s softer and more enjoyable to wear than the leather ones. It might give you a bit of a softer look, which could be perfect for parties if that is your thing. It still has all you need from a tight BDSM collar, so no worries there. The buckle isn’t lockable, but I see no reason why you would want to get out of this collar. And yes, there’s definitely a time and place for a stylish collar that feels good to wear.
